Sailing in Rijeka

Rijeka is located in the Kvarner Bay and is the third largest city in Croatia. The port of Rijeka is a popular starting point for sailing trips in Croatia and connects the Croatian islands with the port of Bari in Italy via ferry. Our long-standing charter partner Kigo Yachting at Marina Rijeka offers sailing enthusiasts a high charter standard and the best all-round service at a consistently high level of quality.

Rijeka is located in the west of Croatia and has the most important Croatian seaport due to its geographical position on the northern Adriatic.
In the old town you can discover magnificent facades, traces of past eras as well as restaurants and boutiques. The heart of the city is the main promenade "Korzo". There you will find the lemon-yellow city tower, which is considered Rijeka's landmark. There are beaches either in the eastern or western part of the city.

The ancient port city of Rijeka is the most important place in the Kvarner Bay. It is a favourite spot for sailors and is particularly popular for its beautiful bays, hidden beaches, charming towns and modern marinas. Pleasant temperatures and stable wind conditions make for an unforgettable sailing holiday from Rijeka in Croatia, especially for families and sailing beginners.

Kvarner Bay is located between Istria and Dalmatia and is the oldest Croatian holiday region. In the 19th century, this place was an important trading centre for the richest people in Europe. That is why you can find the most beautiful villas and hotels from the 19th century there today.

The continental and Mediterranean climate also promotes health tourism in the region around Rijeka. The first centre in the world for asthma and bronchitis, polyclinics for dentists and much more were established there. In addition, there are a total of 1,300 km of cycle paths as well as first-class diving opportunities.

The Kvarner Bay includes, among others, the well-known islands of Krk, Cres, Lošinj, Rab and North Pag. These islands are completely different, but each is interesting in its own way. The northern coast is known to younger tourists as the Spanish Ibiza. On the islands of Cres and Krk, the focus is on family tourism.

The island of Lošinj offers first-class hotels and campsites as well as numerous bays with crystal-clear water. The island of Rab is known for its multitude of sandy beaches with picturesque bays. One of the smaller islands in Kvarner is the island of Susak, which differs in appearance from all 1,244 islands in Croatia. The unique sandy island is overgrown with reeds, blackberries, jasmine and vines and is therefore very green even in summer. High-quality wines from the Kozlovich family come from Susak, as well as the world's first mini dresses.
